Shere Punjab Football Club
Shere Punjab
Football Club (SPFC)
was formed in 1988 by local youths from the Handsworth area of
Birmingham, mainly of Punjabi descent. However the club has always
been an inclusive club with members from many diverse communities
and multi faith backgrounds.
Shere Punjab Football Club started playing in the old Birmingham Works league which we
eventually won before it folded. The club has also won various
league and cup competitions and also played 2 Aston Villa Cup
finals competitions at Villa Park, winning the second one.
The
Shere Punjab Football Club in Birmingham, has steadily progressed year in year out and has proud
traditions of playing entertaining football, whilst always
respecting the officials, traditions and rules of the game.
The football club now has two teams, one playing in the Birmingham
AFA league division 3 after winning league division 4 in the
2006/7 season and a Sunday team playing in the B’ham Festival
League. It also has a group of under 18’s which we are trying to
enter into a youth league.

Shere Punjab is promoting members to take their coaching badges
via FA approved training courses. We already have several members
who have gained Level 1 and are working to achieve Level 2
Certificates in Coaching Football. The club is also working
towards achieving the FA’s Charter Mark Standard
Shere Punjab Football Club is nearing its 21st Anniversary and has
a proud history and record in the Asian Tournaments, it has won
numerous “B” section finals over the years and only this year won
the Derby Tournament “B” section final and also reached the B’ham
Final. This has enabled us to gain promotion back to the
prestigious 'A' section.
